Indian politics and the economy — the facts, then our take

Ethics and corrections

The standards we follow and how we fix mistakes.

Draft for legal review before launch.

Accuracy and sourcing

Every factual claim is checked against at least one reliable source, and the sources are listed at the end of each story. We write in our own words and quote others only briefly, naming who said it.

Reporting and opinion are kept apart

News stories report what happened. Our view appears only in the marked “Our take” panel or in the Opinion section, which uses a different headline style and an opinion label.

Fairness

When a story makes a serious claim about a named person or organisation, we try to include their response or note that they did not respond.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct the story and add a note at the end saying what changed and when. To report an error, write to tamilmediawatchers@gmail.com.

Codes we follow

We aim to follow the Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India and the Code of Ethics for digital news publishers under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
