Sample: how to present numbers in an economy story

Always name the original source for figures like inflation, interest rates and jobs, and explain what the number means for a household.

This is a sample story.

In an economy story, give the number first, then explain it. If you write about inflation, say which month the figure is for, whether it rose or fell from the month before, and who published it.

Work from the original data where you can: RBI releases, MoSPI statistics, Union and state budget documents. Don’t copy charts from other news sites.
